Online Forum – Pause Campaign organized by the School of Communication students from USM on the 12th December
There was an Online Forum and talk organized by the School of Communication students from USM on the 12th December 10am -12pm. This online forum was one of the events from their WAIT, Pause Campaign which was intended to help the students and community on how to overcome their own burnout, mental and physical exhaustion during this pandemic period. The panellist comprised of our own Befriender, Dr. Kala Devi who spoke and shared on the different sources, signs of mental exhaustion (emotionally, mentally and behaviourally) and how to overcome them using certain techniques. Also, Dr. Kala shared on how Befrienders can be considered as one of the platforms to be used to reach out for students and community who are facing burnout. The other panelist include Fatiha, a student who volunteers at a local mental health community service in Selayang: Bowtang and Mr. Mano (a fitness trainer) who spoke about ways to combat burnout with physical movement and exercise. There were about 91 people who attended the live talk on Facebook.
